Are you an experienced R&D Tax Consultant looking to join one of the UK's leading innovation funding consultancies

\n

Our client is a well-established, market-leading consultancy specialising in helping innovative businesses access R&D Tax Relief and other innovation incentives.

\n

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced R&D Tax Manager to manage a portfolio of clients while providing technical expertise on complex software claims.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys working closely with innovative businesses and wants genuine career progression within a collaborative, high-performing team.

The Role - R&D Tax Manager

\n

You'll work with software and technology businesses across a diverse range of industries, helping identify qualifying R&D activities and preparing high-quality R&D Tax Credit claims.

\n

Managing your own portfolio of clients, you'll build trusted relationships with key stakeholders while ensuring every claim is technically robust and commercially valuable.

\n

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of software-focused R&D Tax clients
  • \n
  • Conduct technical consultations with clients to understand qualifying projects
  • \n
  • Prepare and review robust technical reports supporting claims
  • \n
  • Work alongside tax specialists throughout the claims process
  • \n
  • Build long-term relationships with clients and become their trusted advisor
  • \n
  • Keep up to date with changes to UK R&D Tax legislation and HMRC guidance
  • \n
  • Manage a small team
  • \n
  • Support junior team members where appropriate
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities to introduce wider innovation funding services
  • \n

About You

\n

We're keen to speak with individuals who have:

\n
    \n
  • 3+ experience within R&D Tax
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of methodologies and technologies related to R&D Tax
  • \n
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline (desirable)
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • \n
  • The ability to analyse complex technical projects and explain them clearly
  • \n
  • A commercial mindset with strong client relationship skills
  • \n
