Parent and Child Foster Carer - We are currently recruiting foster carers around the West Midlands, Greater Manchester and Northamptonshire.\n
\nDo you have a spare bedroom in your home and a genuine desire to make a difference for a parent and their young baby or toddler?\n
\nAt Rees Fostering, we are looking for caring, patient and resilient people to provide a safe and nurturing home environment for parents who need extra guidance and support to build their confidence and parenting skills.\n
\nIf you have experience working with families perhaps as a midwife, maternity nurse, nursery worker, or in a community or support role this could be an opportunity to use your skills in a new and rewarding way.\n
About the Role\n
\nAs a Parent and Child Foster Carer, youll welcome a parent and their baby or toddler into your home for a period of approximately 12 weeks.\n
\nYoull work alongside our dedicated team of social workers and professionals to support the parent to develop their parenting capacity in a calm, safe and encouraging environment.\n
\nYoull play a vital role in helping a family stay together and thrive using respect, empathy, empowerment and support to help build independence and confidence.Location: Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Herefordshire, Sandwell, Shropshire, Solihull, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Telford and Wrekin, Walsall, Warwickshire, Wolverhampton and Worcestershire\n

\nThe assessment process usually takes around 46 months and includes free training, background checks, and references (including an enhanced DBS).\n
Financial Package\n
\nWhile foster carers are not salaried employees, you will receive a generous weekly allowance when you have a parent and child placed with you.\n
\nThis covers the costs of caring for them and reflects your skills and commitment.\n

- A spare bedroom that provides enough space for a parent and their child, including room for a single bed, cot or Moses basket, wardrobe and chest of drawers. \n
- Time and flexibility to care for a parent and their child full-time \n
- A genuine interest in supporting families, while respecting and valuing them as individuals \n
- Ability to take parent and child to appointments and attend meetings/training as required \n
- Good spoken English and basic IT skills (or willingness to learn) \n
- Aged 21 or over \n
- British Citizenship, Indefinite Leave to Remain, or EU Settled Status(Student, Post-Study or Work Visas are not eligible) \n

- Good written English and record-keeping skills \n
- Access to a computer or tablet \n
- Able to drive, or willing to learn (depending on local transport links) \n
- At home full time or with flexibility in other commitments \n

- No prior fostering experience is necessary as full training and support are provided. \n
- Previous experience of parenting, childminding, fostering, or working with children, families or vulnerable adults is beneficial, but not essential. \n
