Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking to join a food manufacturing company based in Accrington? You will be electrically bias and have experience of working within a FMCG environment. As a Maintenance Engineer you will play a key part in minimising downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. As a Maintenance Engineer your role will involve:

• Responsible for the effective repair, maintenance and improvement of the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic elements of the production plant
\n
• To assist in the development of predictive and planned maintenance systems for all production equipment and the implementation of those systems
\n
• Carry out daily routine checks; lubrication, PPM's
\n
• Support the manufacturing process by responding in a timely manner to equipment breakdowns
\n
• Carrying out scheduled maintenance work and being proactive on the correction and modification of reoccurring machine processing faults
\n
• Fault find in an effective and efficient manner whilst utilising the various machines relevant documentation
\n
• Establish harmonious relations with the operational staff and engineering utilities team with a collaborative approach to problem solving
\n
• Ensuring that machinery is maintained, and repaired to a high standard
\n
• Train and motivate production teams to improve plant and equipment understanding
\n
• To carry out all responsibilities and practices with the aim of producing food safely and to required internal & external specifications within a HACCP framework
\n

Hours of work:
Monday to Friday

(Week 1) 6am - 2pm(Week 2) 2pm - 10pm

1 week in 6 you will be required to work a Saturday and Sunday but have the Monday and Tuesday off the following week
\n Saturday - 6am - 2pm Sunday - 7am - 3pm

Suitable Candidates:

\n
• Apprentice Trained Maintenance Engineer. Qualified to NVQ Level 3
\n
• ONC / HNC in Engineering - or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge
\n
• Experience with electrical & mechanical maintenance - FMCG manufacturing
\n
• Strong understanding of safety and environmental regulations
\n
• Flexible, team-oriented, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
