About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our Service & Commissioning team. You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, and repairing smoke and fire damper control systems and related equipment at customer sites.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong electrical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

  Install, commission, service, and repair smoke and fire damper control systems and interfaces.

\n
• \n

  Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system faults on-site and remotely.

\n
• \n

  Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work.

\n
• \n

  Produce detailed service reports and technical documentation.

\n
• \n

  Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and site requirements.

\n
• \n

  Work closely with internal engineering and support teams to resolve technical issues.

\n
• \n

  Manage service calls and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.

\n
• \n

  Maintain tools, equipment, and service stock.

\n
• \n

  Provide feedback to support product and service improvements.

\n

What We're Looking For

\n
• Time-served electrician with strong electrical and electronic control systems experience.
\n
• Fully qualified electrician (minimum 17th Edition / BS 7671).
\n
• Proven experience in a Field Service Engineer or similar role.
\n
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
\n
• Good understanding of electrical circuits and control panels.
\n
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
\n
• Must be willing to travel extensively and stay away from home when required (including overnight stays).
\n
• Full UK driving licence.
\n

Desirable

\n
• Experience with fire and smoke damper systems.
\n
• Electrical design, installation, or verification qualifications.
\n
