Location: RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire

Contract: 12 Months (strong likelihood of extension)

Rate: £30 per hour, Inside IR35 (Umbrella)

\n

Security Clearance: BPSS+ (completed by site security) - must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance

\n

Nationality Restrictions: Role subject to ITAR compliance

\n

Relevant Backgrounds: Engineering * Manufacturing * Aerospace * Aircraft Industry

A Material Support Specialist is required to join a high-performance operational support team responsible for ensuring the UK A400M fleet remains fully equipped, mission-ready, and able to meet its Maintenance and Flying Programme commitments. Working closely with MRO and P145 teams and reporting to the Material Demand Coordinator, the specialist will play a vital role in managing and escalating material demands across the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain operational oversight of all material requirements supporting maintenance and technical activities across the UK A400M fleet, both domestically and worldwide.
  • \n
  • Provide expert support during AOG events, contributing to recovery coordination and participating in global conference calls.
  • \n
  • Escalate critical AOG and Work Stop items, including depth maintenance parts and ADFs at risk.
  • \n
  • Liaise directly with the customer regarding MTP material procurement, escalating any items unable to meet required delivery deadlines.
  • \n
  • Follow up on delayed items, incorrect or missing documentation, incomplete requisitions, and unresolved supply issues.
  • \n
  • Attend daily operational briefings and planning meetings, contributing to fleet readiness and operational decision-making.
  • \n

Key Skills & Experience

\n
    \n
  • Background in a material management or supply chain role.
  • \n
  • Strong experience using SAP systems (SAP SP1, SAP HANA).
  • \n
  • Comfortable attending and contributing to operational meetings.
  • \n
  • Strong customer relationship management skills.
  • \n
  • Effective problem-solving abilities with the capability to identify and escalate risks.
  • \n
  • Experience producing supply chain reports and managing material-related data.
  • \n
  • Familiarity with EASA Part 145 regulations.
  • \n
  • Proficiency with material management tools such as Airnnav, Microsoft Excel, and MDS for P145 requisitions.
