Electrical Engineer - Saffron Walden

Location: Saffron Walden, Essex
Salary: £46,000
Hours: Monday to Friday

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the engineering team at a prestigious research and commercial campus in Saffron Walden.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established team responsible for maintaining a high-quality environment, ensuring all electrical systems and building services operate safely and efficiently.

We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of building maintenance.

\n
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems
\n
• Fault find and repair lighting, power, emergency lighting, and electrical distribution systems
\n
• Support the maintenance of mechanical building services and associated plant where required
\n
• Conduct routine plant room inspections and ensure equipment is operating efficiently
\n
• Complete maintenance records and update CAFM systems accurately
\n
• Liaise with contractors and the wider engineering team to ensure works are completed to a high standard
\n
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and site procedures
\n
• Identify opportunities for remedial works and continuous improvements
\n

• Fully qualified Electrician (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
\n
• Previous experience within commercial building maintenance
\n
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
\n
• Good understanding of building services systems and plant
\n
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and support the wider team
\n
• Reliable, proactive, and able to build strong working relationships
\n
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
\n
