Working Farm Foreman The Job Role Details:

\n

This is a hands-on leadership role working closely with senior management to coordinate daily farming activities, supervise staff, maintain machinery and ensure the efficient operation of the business throughout the year.

\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n
    \n
  • Lead and manage daily crop production activities
  • \n
  • Oversee spraying operations and crop husbandry programmes
  • \n
  • Manage trellis systems, crop support structures and general farm infrastructure
  • \n
  • Supervise harvest operations and seasonal labour teams
  • \n
  • Lead, motivate and support a small team of permanent employees
  • \n
  • Ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained
  • \n
  • Diagnose faults, service, maintain and repair agricultural machinery and farm equipment
  • \n
  • Coordinate cultivation, irrigation and general farm operations
  • \n
  • Support environmental and estate management projects
  • \n
  • Report operational progress to senior management
  • \n

Essential Candidate Skills & Experience:

\n
    \n
  • Proven experience within commercial fruit production, orchards, vineyards, hops, soft fruit or other perennial cropping systems
  • \n
  • Proven ability to diagnose faults, maintain and repair agricultural machinery and farm equipment
  • \n
  • PA1, PA2 and PA3 qualifications
  • \n
  • Forklift and/or telehandler certification
  • \n
  • Experience supervising staff and coordinating workloads
  • \n
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and make sound operational decisions
  • \n
  • Full UK driving licence
  • \n
  • Flexible approach to working hours during peak seasonal periods
  • \n

Desirable:

    \n
  • Previous Foreman, Farm Supervisor or Assistant Farm Manager experience
  • \n
  • Experience managing seasonal labour
  • \n
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • \n
  • Knowledge of trellis systems and crop support infrastructure
  • \n
  • Environmental stewardship experience
  • \n
\n

Working Hours:

\n

Monday to Friday with flexibility required during harvest and peak seasonal periods.

\n
