Gas Suppression Service Engineer / Room Integrity Tester

\nWe are seeking an experienced Gas Suppression Service Engineer / Room Integrity Tester to join our growing team. This role will involve working across a variety of sites including data centres, commercial premises.
\nYou will be responsible for servicing and fault-finding on gas suppression systems, as well as carrying out room integrity testing (door fan tests) and associated small remedial works.
\nThis role will include but not limited to the items below:
\nCarry out maintenance of gas suppression systems (FM-200, Novec 1230, IG systems)
\nPerform Room Integrity Testing (RIT) using Retrotec
\nAnalyse RIT results and provide recommendations for sealing works and PRV sizing
\nConduct full cause & effect testing of fire alarm and suppression systems (including shutdowns, interfaces, and outputs)
\nDiagnose and rectify faults on fire alarm control panels and suppression systems
\nVerify correct operation of detection systems, release mechanisms, and interface signals
\nInspect and assess pressure relief vent (PRV) performance (positive & negative pressure requirements)
\nProduce detailed service reports, test results, and compliance documentation
\nLiaise with clients on-site to explain system performance, failures, and remedial actions
\nSupport installation and upgrade work where required
\nEnsure all works are carried out in line with relevant British Standards and industry best practice
\nRequired Skills:
\nStrong knowledge of gas suppression systems (e.g. FM-200, Novec 1230, IG55/IG541)
\nExperience with room integrity testing (door fan testing using Retrotec)
\nAbility to understand RIT results (leakage, hold time, PRV sizing requirements)
\nUnderstanding of cause & effect operation for fire alarm and suppression systems
\nFault finding on fire alarm panels and suppression control panels
\nKnowledge of pressure relief vent (PRV) requirements (positive & negative pressure)
\nBasic electrical fault-finding (voltages, circuits, inputs/outputs)
\nA good understanding of the Standards which relate to our Industry and the systems we install is required
\nExcellent customer relations are a must as the role will often include the individual being in a customer facing environment
\nGood communication skills are required as most of the role will involve being on the telephone with customers and staff within the business, eg engineers, admin, sales and management teams
\nA good understanding of Health and Safety will be an advantage although not a necessity
\nA willingness to travel to locations across the country
\nDesirable
\nKnowledge of aerosol systems
\nFamiliarity with Retrotec equipment and reporting software
\nFIA units or relevant fire qualifications
\nWorking hours are 08:30 to 17:00 with a 30 minute lunch break. Salary will be discussed at interview stage.
