The Role

\n Winner Recruitment are currently seeking a skilled and versatile Multi Trade Operative on behalf of a well-established building maintenance company. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance across Planned Works, Voids, and Responsive Maintenance (RM) contracts.
Working across both occupied and unoccupied properties, you will be responsible for delivering first-time fixes wherever possible, while ensuring excellent customer service and full compliance with health and safety standards.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Carry out multi-trade repairs and maintenance to a high standard in residents' homes and void properties \n
- Complete a range of tasks including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, painting, tiling, and basic brickwork \n
- Support void refurbishments and planned works programmes, ensuring properties are safe, compliant, and ready to let \n
- Attend responsive maintenance call-outs, diagnosing issues and achieving first-time fixes where possible \n
- Accurately complete PDA updates, timesheets, and work reports \n
- Communicate professionally with residents, clients, and colleagues \n
- Conduct on-site risk assessments and adhere to all Health & Safety legislation and company procedures \n
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times and take responsibility for site safety \n
- Work flexibly across the region, adapting to varying locations and tasks \n
- Mentor apprentices and support team members where required \n
- Promote sustainability by minimising waste and using materials efficiently \n
- Participate in Health & Safety inspections and toolbox talks \n
- Take part in the out-of-hours rota (where applicable) \n
About You
\n- \n
- Proven experience as a Multi Trade Operative within social housing, planned works, voids, or RM environments \n
- Skilled in at least two core trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, plastering, painting, tiling, brickwork) \n
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and risk assessments \n
- Excellent customer service and communication skills \n
- Comfortable working in occupied properties \n
- Competent using handheld devices (PDA/mobile apps) \n
- Full, clean UK driving licence \n
- Must hold (or be eligible for) SC clearance and meet BPSS requirements \n
- NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade \n
- Valid training in Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, Manual Handling, and First Aid \n
Desirable

- Experience working on MOD, local authority, or housing association contracts \n
- Ability to carry out plumbing works safely and compliantly \n
- Experience mentoring apprentices or junior staff \n
