Grounds Maintenance Operative

Hours: 8 hours per week (1 full day per week day to be agreed with the client)

About the Role\n

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Operative to maintain the outdoor areas of a prestigious commercial site at Capital Park, Cambridge.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in grounds maintenance, gardening or landscaping who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities\n

\n
• Mowing lawns and maintaining grassed areas
\n
• Hedge trimming, shrub pruning and general planting
\n
• Weeding flower beds and watering plants
\n
• Sweeping and blowing paths and hard landscaped areas
\n
• Emptying litter bins and maintaining a clean site
\n
• Operating grounds maintenance equipment including:\n
  \n
  • Pedestrian mowers
  \n
  • Ride-on mowers
  \n
  • Strimmers
  \n
  • Hedge cutters
  \n
  • Leaf blowers
  \n
\n
• Carrying out daily equipment safety checks and reporting defects
\n
• Applying fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides where appropriately qualified (PA1/PA6)
\n
• Assisting with seasonal duties including leaf clearance, snow clearance, gritting and storm clean-up
\n

About You\n

You'll ideally have:

\n

\n
• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping or commercial gardening
\n
• A full UK driving licence
\n
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
\n
• The ability to work independently
\n
• Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
\n

Desirable (but not essential)\n

\n
• PA1 & PA6 spraying certificates
\n
• Chainsaw certification
\n
• Experience operating ride-on mowing equipment
\n
