Bid Writer
\nWe are looking for an experienced Bid Writer with at least two years bid writing experience from the civil engineering or construction sector. The position can be based at either our clients Cheshire or London offices with some hybrid working.
\nOverview
\nDue to continued expansion, an abundant pipeline of works, and the recent award of a number of significant framework contracts, our client is now looking to appoint a talented and motivated Bid Writer to join their successful and growing work-winning team.
\nIn this key role, you will produce high-quality, compelling bid content that clearly articulates developed win themes and supports the submission of outstanding tenders across public and private civil engineering sectors. You will lead the coordination and preparation of PQQ and tender submissions, acting as Bid Lead for tenders ensuring responses are well planned, compliant, persuasive and submitted on time.
\nWorking closely with colleagues, technical specialists and the preconstruction team, you will research, develop and write content for bids, presentations and marketing materials, while helping manage multiple short-duration tenders efficiently.
\nThe Role
\nAct as Bid Writer for allocated tenders, managing the process from opportunity to submission.
\nProducing a bid programme and submission plan, organising bid kick-off meetings
\nAllocating responsibilities for bid inputs
\nCoordinating contributions from estimators, planners and operational staff
\nTracking progress against deadlines, managing tender clarifications
\nEnsuring compliance with client requirements, assembling and submitting final documents
\nWrite clear, persuasive responses to PQQs, ITTs, bids, tenders and framework submissions
\nTranslate technical information into structured, client-focused responses
\nDevelop methodology responses, project approaches and value proposals
\nReview and improve contributions from technical team members
\nEdit and proofread submissions to ensure clarity and consistency
\nEnsure responses align with identified win themes
\nThe Person
\nProven experience in bid writing with a strong ability to produce clear, compelling content.
\nA background in coordinating bid submissions in any area of the construction sector
\nAbility to analyse tender questions, scoring criteria and client requirements to shape responses.
\nSkilled at extracting technical information from subject matter experts and translating this into high-quality written content.
\nExcellent written communication, editing and proofreading skills.
\nStrong organisational capability with the ability to prioritise multiple concurrent bids and meet tight deadlines.
\nProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
\nExperience with document design tools such as InDesign (beneficial but not essential).
\nHighly organised and proactive, self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership
