Outline of role\n
\nWe are seeking a driven and\n
\nexperienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our established team in response\n
\nto a significant increase in workload. The role will involve delivering a range\n
\nof mechanical projects, predominantly within the commercial retail sector.\n
\nYou will take ownership of\n
\nprojects from conception through to completion, ensuring delivery to the\n
\nhighest standards, on time, and within budget. Many of our schemes are carried\n
\nout in live, operational environments, so the ability to work efficiently while\n
\nminimising disruption is key. Experience in fast-track asset replacement\n
\nprogrammes within live retail or commercial settings is highly desirable,\n
\nalthough not essential.\n
Main responsibilities\n
\nYou will need to be able to run\n
\nand deliver exceptional projects to a high standard with a varying of\n
\nmechanical trades:\n
\nDelivering\n
\nmechanical projects of varying scale and complexity to agreed deadlines,\n
\nspecifications and budgets, including energy-efficiency and decarbonisation\n
\nworks.\n
\nApplying\n
\nstrong mechanical engineering knowledge to problem-solving and decision-making\n
\non site.\n
\nAttending\n
\nand managing all on-site project phases, overseeing daily operations and\n
\nensuring quality standards are consistently met.\n
\nParticipating\n
\nin design team meetings, providing technical input with a focus on\n
\nbuildability, energy performance and lifecycle value.\n
\nConducting\n
\nsite surveys to support project planning and identify opportunities for plant\n
\noptimisation and carbon reduction.\n
\nMonitoring\n
\nKPIs weekly to ensure contractual, commercial, and operational targets are\n
\nachieved.\n
\nMaintaining\n
\nstrict Health & Safety compliance in line with legislation, company\n
\npolicies and site-specific requirements.\n
\nProactively\n
\nmanaging project profitability, achieving or exceeding target margins and\n
\nidentifying cost and energy efficiencies.\n
\nProducing\n
\naccurate and timely Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).\n
\nDriving a\n
\nright first time quality culture, working towards defect-free, compliant\n
\nhandovers.\n
\nChampioning\n
\ninnovation by exploring improved processes, construction methodologies and low-carbon\n
\nmechanical solutions to maintain competitive advantage and support client\n
\nsustainability goals.\n
Knowledge and experience
\n required
\n
\nSMSTS\n
\ncertification (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).\n
\nCSCS card\n
\n(Construction Skills Certification Scheme).\n
\nProven\n
\nexperience delivering mechanical projects within commercial, retail or related\n
\nsectors.\n
\nAn\n
\nunderstanding of energy-efficient building services and modern mechanical\n
\nplant, with exposure to decarbonisation projects beneficial.\n
\nStrong\n
\nproject management skills, including planning, budgeting and resource\n
\nallocation.\n
\nAbility to\n
\nmanage multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to detail.\n
\nStrong\n
\nleadership and communication skills to effectively engage clients,\n
\nsubcontractors and internal teams.\n
Qualifications\n
\nRelevant\n
\nqualification in Building Services or HVAC Engineering (HNC, HND, Degree, or\n
\nequivalent)\n
