Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor Energy Project (Edinburgh)\n
\nLocation: Edinburgh (site-based)\n
\nDuration: Minimum 2 years\n
\nReporting to: Regional Commercial Manager\n
\nRole Overview\n
\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a major energy infrastructure project in Edinburgh.\n
\nThis role will focus on ensuring robust commercial management, contract compliance, and financial control across the project lifecycle. The project is administered under FIDIC terms and conditions, making prior FIDIC experience essential.\n
\nKey Responsibilities\n
\nLead the commercial management of a large-scale energy project\n
\nAdminister and manage FIDIC contracts, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation\n
\nManage subcontractor procurement, including tendering and contract preparation\n
\nOversee subcontractor valuations, payments, and final accounts\n
\nPrepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost/value reconciliations\n
\nDeliver accurate cost reporting and financial projections\n
\nWork closely with Project and Site Managers to optimise commercial performance\n
\nIdentify and manage commercial risks and opportunities\n
\nSupport dispute resolution and contractual negotiations where required\n
\nKey Requirements\n
\nProven experience at Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor level\n
\nStrong working knowledge of FIDIC contracts (essential)\n
\nDemonstrable experience within the energy sector, ideally including:High Voltage (HV) works\n
\nSubstation projects\n
\nMinimum 5+ years post-qualification experience in construction, civil engineering, or electrical infrastructure\n
\nDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar\n
\nStrong commercial acumen and contract management skills\n
\nExcellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities\n
\nAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities\n
\nDesirable\n
\nChartered status (e.g. RICS)\n
\nExperience within utilities / electrical infrastructure / renewables environments\n
