7.5T SWEEPER DRIVER STREET CLEANSING / STAINES

We are recruiting reliable and conscientious 7.5T (C1) Sweeper Drivers for a local authority environmental services operation based in Staines.

This role involves operating a road sweeper whilst also carrying out manual street cleansing duties to help maintain public areas, town centres and market locations. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering long-term stability with immediate starts available.

PAYStandard Rate

\n
• Basic Hourly Rate: £16.00
\n
• Holiday Pay (Rolled Up): £2.22
\n
• Total Hourly Pay (Inclusive): £18.22
\n
• Overtime: Available during seasonal periods
\n
• Pay Frequency: Weekly
\n

SHIFT PATTERNWeek 1

• Wednesday Friday: 06:00 AM 1:30 PM
\n
• Saturday: 06:00 AM 12:30 PM
\n

Evening Market Duties

\n
• Wednesday: 5:00 PM 8:00 PM
\n
• Friday: 5:00 PM 8:00 PM
\n
• Saturday: 5:00 PM 8:00 PM
\n

Week 2

\n
• Monday Thursday: 06:00 AM 1:30 PM
\n
• Friday: 06:00 AM 12:00 PM
\n
• 30-minute unpaid break applies to all shifts except Saturday (Week 1) and Friday (Week 2).
\n

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

\n
• Operating a 7.5T road sweeper safely and efficiently
\n
• Maintaining the cleanliness of streets, market areas and public spaces
\n
• Carrying out evening market cleansing duties when required
\n
• Completing daily vehicle safety inspections and reporting defects
\n
• Washing and maintaining the sweeper vehicle to a high standard
\n
• Leaving the vehicle when required to manually remove litter and debris
\n
• Cleaning beneath benches, around street furniture and other hard-to-reach areas
\n
• Carrying out litter picking and general environmental maintenance duties
\n
• Working safely around pedestrians, businesses and market traders
\n
• Following all health & safety procedures and operational guidelines
\n

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

\n
• Full UK 7.5T (Category C1) Licence
\n
• Valid CPC Card preferred
\n
• Digital Tachograph Card preferred
\n
• Good understanding of vehicle safety and daily vehicle checks
\n
• Reliable, punctual and self-motivated
\n
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
\n
• Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual cleaning duties
\n
• Strong awareness of public safety when operating vehicles in busy pedestrian areas
\n
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude
\n

Desirable

\n
• Previous experience operating road sweepers or similar specialist vehicles
\n
• Experience within street cleansing, waste management, environmental services or local authority operations
\n
