HGV Class 1 Driver – Avonmouth, Bristol

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Avonmouth, Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts

 • Four shifts over seven days
\n  • 12-hour shifts
\n  • PM start times between 17:00 – 18:00
\n  • Rolling three-week rota

Rates of Pay

 • £18.60 - £39.96 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

 • Completing Class 1 multi-drop deliveries
\n  • Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
\n  • Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
\n  • Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly and assisting with loading and unloading when required
\n  • Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
\n  • Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
\n  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
\n  • Maintaining a good understanding of Health and Safety legislation, Food Safety standards and UK road networks

Essential Skills

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

 • Valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence
\n  • Minimum of twelve months' Category C+E driving experience
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
\n  • Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • Good spoken and written English
\n  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
\n  • Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
\n  • Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience

 • Previous commercial driving experience

Training Provided

 • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
