Interim Finance Manager

Our client is a growing SME based in North Yorkshire seeking an experienced Interim Finance Manager to provide hands on financial leadership during a period of change. This is a three month assignment with flexibility to be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the successful candidate's availability.\n
\n Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring business continuity while maintaining robust financial controls and supporting operational decision-making. This is a varied role suited to an experienced finance professional who is comfortable working independently within a fast-paced SME environment.\n
Key responsibilities:\n

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function.
\n
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
\n
• Manage cash flow, forecasting and working capital.
\n
• Supervise purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities.
\n
• Complete VAT returns and ensure statutory compliance.
\n
• Oversee payroll and associated reporting where required.
\n
• Maintain financial controls and improve finance processes where appropriate.
\n
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors and other professional advisers.
\n
• Support senior management with financial analysis and commercial insight.
\n
• Ensure a smooth handover at the end of the interim assignment.
\n

Candidate profile:\n

\n
• Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience accountant.
\n
• Previous experience in an Interim Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
\n
• Strong SME finance experience with the ability to manage a broad workload.
\n
• Confident producing management accounts and overseeing transactional finance.
\n
• Able to work autonomously and quickly establish effective working relationships.
\n
• Practical, organised and adaptable with excellent communication skills.
\n
• Available to commence the assignment at short notice or within a reasonable timeframe.
\n

Package and working pattern:\n

• Initial three-month interim contract.
\n
• Flexible opportunity available on either a full-time or part-time basis.
\n
• Salary Depending on experience - c.£45,000 - £60,000
