Shift Engineer
\nSalary: £53,346 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance)
\nLocation: Stokesley, North Yorkshire

\nWe are currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer to join a successful manufacturing site in Stokesley, supporting the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of plant and equipment across the operation.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys a hands-on role, solving problems, improving equipment performance, and working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
\nThe Role
\nAs a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving site assets through effective planned preventative maintenance, reactive fault finding, and continuous improvement activities.
\nYou will play a key role in ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting production targets while maintaining high standards across safety, quality, and engineering performance.

Key Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities \n
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across site equipment \n
- Improve asset reliability and reduce unplanned downtime \n
- Complete root cause analysis and implement corrective actions \n
- Support continuous improvement projects and engineering initiatives \n
- Work closely with production teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively \n
- Maintain accurate engineering records and update maintenance systems \n
- Ensure equipment operates in line with safety, quality, and food manufacturing standards \n
- Support contractors and engineering projects where required \n
- Complete effective shift handovers and communicate key issues across teams \n
About You
\nThe successful candidate will ideally have:
\n- \n
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification \n
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience, ideally with an electrical bias \n
- Minimum HNC qualification in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience) \n
- Previous experience working within an industrial manufacturing environment \n
- Experience within food manufacturing/FMCG would be advantageous \n
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills \n
- Experience using CMMS systems \n
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance practices \n
- Strong problem-solving ability with experience of root cause analysis \n
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment \n
Desirable Experience
\n- \n
- Knowledge of GMP and HACCP standards \n
- Engineering project experience \n
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification \n
- Experience working with site services and utilities \n
