Job Opportunity: Full-Time Thoracic Surgeon

Our organization is on the lookout for a dedicated Thoracic Surgeon to become a vital member of the Johnson Family Cancer Center team, situated in Muskegon, Michigan.

Practice Overview

The Johnson Family Cancer Center, in collaboration with its Oncology partners, offers comprehensive and empathetic treatment tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient. We leverage the latest advancements in medical technology and therapeutic approaches.

This Cancer Center is part of the Cancer Network of West Michigan, a collaborative effort between our organization and a prominent health institution, aimed at delivering extensive cancer care across the Grand Rapids Metropolitan area, Muskegon, and the scenic West Michigan lakeshore.

Role Responsibilities
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Radiation and Medical Oncologists, Pulmonologists, and Gastroenterologists, to provide coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Perform a variety of thoracic surgical procedures, with a primary focus on lung and esophageal surgeries, particularly emphasizing Robotic-Assisted Thoracic Surgery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues at the Trinity Health Lacks Cancer Center and the partnering health institution, as well as the Cardiothoracic Surgery team.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing surgical outcomes, ensuring patient safety, and improving overall healthcare delivery.
Qualifications
  • Board certification in the specialty is required, or board eligibility with the expectation of obtaining certification within two years.
  • A valid State of Michigan medical license is necessary at the time of employment.
  • Possession of a DEA license is required.
  • BLS Certification must be obtained and maintained.
