About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer , you'll play a critical role in researching, designing, developing, testing, certifying, deploying, and improving advanced aerospace products and systems. You'll contribute to programs ranging from sophisticated mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft and groundbreaking space exploration technologies.
Your expertise will help drive the design and development of complex mechanical structures and systems throughout the entire product lifecycle, ensuring excellence in performance, quality, and innovation.
What You'll Do
As a key member of the engineering team, you will:
- Design and develop complex mechanical structures and systems for advanced aerospace applications
- Support new product development from concept through deployment and lifecycle support
- Apply engineering principles and industry best practices to solve technical challenges
- Utilize Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to support design, validation, and development activities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including systems, manufacturing, quality, and program engineering
- Participate in product testing, certification, and performance evaluations
- Analyze design requirements and develop engineering solutions that meet customer and program objectives
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to product design and development processes
- Generate and maintain technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle
- Contribute to the successful delivery of innovative aerospace and defense solutions
Required QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Typically 6+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Experience using Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools
- Experience working within multidisciplinary design and development teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex engineering assignments in a collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience will be highly valued:
Engineering Design & Analysis- Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5
- Engineering simulation experience, including:
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
- Thermal Analysis
- Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles
- Parametric design methodologies
- Model-Based Definition (MBD)
- Material and hardware selection
- Manufacturing processes
- Production processes
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense industry
- Experience supporting complex aerospace systems and product development programs

Work Environment

Pay Details: $59.27 per hour
