Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to support the startup, commissioning, warranty, service, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems installed in large-scale multifamily and high-rise projects.
This position is designed for a technician with strong refrigeration knowledge and hands-on experience working with VRF, VRV, and DX systems. The successful candidate must be comfortable independently diagnosing complex equipment issues and traveling frequently to project locations throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform HVAC equipment startups, commissioning, service, and warranty work.
- Troubleshoot refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and controls-related equipment issues.
- Diagnose and repair VRF, VRV, and DX systems.
- Confirm proper system operation and identify installation or performance issues.
- Support HVAC systems within large-scale multifamily and high-rise construction environments.
- Travel to active project sites throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
- Maintain service equipment, tools, and refrigerants housed in a company-provided van.
- Communicate clearly with project teams regarding system conditions, repairs, and recommended next steps.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of HVAC startup, commissioning, service, and warranty experience.
- Experience supporting large-scale multifamily or high-rise projects.
- Hands-on experience with VRF, VRV, and DX systems.
- Strong understanding of refrigeration principles and HVAC troubleshooting.
- EPA Universal certification.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout the assigned region.
- Ability to work independently and solve complex equipment problems.
- Stable employment history or a clear explanation of project-based assignments.
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturer training or certifications from companies such as Daikin, LG, Mitsubishi, or similar HVAC manufacturers.
- Experience working on HVAC systems serving large apartment, condominium, mixed-use, or high-rise developments.
- Experience identifying installation issues during startup and commissioning.
Travel and Position Resources
Frequent regional travel is required. Travel will primarily be completed using a company-provided service van. Eligible travel expenses and per diem may be reimbursed when necessary.
The position also includes a company-provided cell phone. Relocation assistance may be available.
