Mechanical Design Engineer

Ambassador Personnel is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity with a well-established manufacturer and fabricator of custom industrial machinery in Spartanburg, SC. Our client has been producing high-quality engineered equipment and machinery solutions for decades and is continuing to grow its engineering team.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing new machinery and improving existing equipment while collaborating with internal teams and customers to develop practical engineering solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects from concept through installation and play a key role in the development of custom machinery.

Responsibilities include designing mechanical components and custom machinery using Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software, creating detailed manufacturing drawings and assemblies, managing projects from concept through fabrication and installation, collaborating with internal teams and customers, improving existing equipment designs, and supporting implementation and startup activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidates should have a minimum of three years of mechanical design experience involving machinery, equipment, or mechanical systems. Candidates should have strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software, a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Experience designing custom machinery or industrial equipment is preferred. Experience with web handling systems, converting equipment, paper, film, nonwovens, textiles, weldments, fabrication, or machine design in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
