HIICAP Coordinator

HIICAP Coordinator (Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance Program)

Educates the public about Medicare, Medicare Savings Programs, Extra Help, EPIC; provides accurate and objective counseling, assistance and advocacy to Medicare beneficiaries. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the OFA Executive Director.

Good knowledge about Medicare, Medicaid and private health insurance benefits, policies and procedures; knowledge of the needs, characteristics and interests of older people; ability to communicate; ability to relate to and motivate senior citizens; empathy in handling sensitive problems; patience.

Associate Degree in Human Services or related field and two years of experience in community organization or the field of aging; or High School education or equivalent and three years experience in a community organization or the field of aging, preferred.

M-F Pay is $41,600 annually (20.00 hr). Benefit package includes health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and a 403b retirement plan.
