Director of Purchasing

Director of Purchasing | Consumer Products Manufacturing | $120K-$150K+

I'm partnering with a growing consumer products manufacturer to identify a Director of Purchasing who can drive sourcing excellence, strengthen supplier partnerships, and deliver meaningful cost savings across a diverse product portfolio.

This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the VP of Purchasing and leading a team responsible for sourcing raw materials and ingredients supporting hundreds of products. The ideal candidate brings deep purchasing expertise from food, beauty, personal care, or cosmetics consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing environments.

Compensation

• $160,000-$180,000 target salary

What You'll Do

• Lead a team of purchasing professionals responsible for global sourcing and procurement activities
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, ingredients, and packaging components
• Drive supplier negotiations, cost-reduction initiatives, and procurement efficiencies
• Manage relationships with domestic and international suppliers, including significant sourcing activity throughout Asia
• Oversee purchasing support for a portfolio of 600+ consumer products
• Partner with executive leadership to improve operational performance and supply continuity
• Establish stronger processes, accountability, and purchasing best practices across the organization

What We're Looking For

• Leadership experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management
• Proven track record sourcing raw materials and ingredients within consumer product manufacturing
• Experience in food, beauty, cosmetics, personal care, skincare, health & wellness, or related CPG manufacturing environments
• History of delivering measurable cost savings and supplier performance improvements
• Strong vendor negotiation and strategic sourcing expertise
• Experience managing purchasing teams and global supplier networks
• Mandarin language skills are a plus
• Degree not required for candidates with relevant experience
