Electronics Department Manager
Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, organized, and dynamic Electronics Department Manager to lead a growing team of custom electronics professionals, including project managers, technicians, and administrative staff. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, customer service, and innovation.
This is a full-time position requiring a 45-hour work week, Monday through Friday.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and professional development of the electronics team.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture through coaching and mentorship.
Oversee scheduling, job tracking, project documentation, and communication throughout all phases of each project.
Partner with administrative staff to improve departmental efficiency and workflow.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), labor utilization, and resource planning to maximize productivity.
Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to scope.
Conduct regular project review meetings to address challenges and maintain alignment across teams.
Serve as the primary escalation point for customer concerns and high-profile installations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and integration partners.
Identify operational inefficiencies and implement continuous process improvements.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Minimum 2-3 years of management experience.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
Passion for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to hold yourself and others accountable while fostering a positive work environment.
Proven ability to achieve performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with D-Tools and Microsoft Visio is preferred.
Enthusiasm for emerging technology and consumer electronics.
Proficiency with today's technology, including smartphones, smart TVs, and smart home systems.
