General Manager- Automotive Retail

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven General Manager to lead our dealership. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing all dealership operations, driving profitability, developing people, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate is a strong, process-oriented leader who understands how to run a successful dealership, hold teams accountable, and build a culture of performance, integrity, and long-term growth.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage all aspects of dealership operations, including sales, service, finance, and fixed operations.

• Oversee department managers, set clear goals, and hold teams accountable for performance and results.

• Drive profitability through effective inventory management, pricing strategy, and operational efficiency.

• Monitor financial performance, review P&L statements, and ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.

• Develop and implement strategies to increase market share, improve gross profit, and grow revenue.

• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and resolve escalated customer issues when necessary.

• Recruit, hire, train, and develop managers and staff to build a strong, capable team.

• Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, lenders, vendors, and community partners.

• Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and manufacturer policies and regulations.

• Uphold McDonald Auto Group's standards for operational excellence, ethics, and customer care.

What We're Looking For

• Proven dealership leadership experience as a General Manager, General Sales Manager, or similar role.

• Strong understanding of automotive retail operations, including sales, service, finance, and fixed operations.

• Demonstrated ability to drive profitability, manage P&L, and improve operational performance.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and people development skills.

• Process-driven mindset with the ability to create consistency, accountability, and results.

• Strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, and decision-making ability.

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

• Completion of NADA GM Program or comparable automotive leadership training is a plus.
