We are seeking an experienced Licensed Master Electrician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical transportation infrastructure. This position is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and digital systems associated with tunnel and bridge operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with commercial and industrial electrical systems, including 480V three-phase power distribution, and possess strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
This is a hands-on role requiring a safety-first mindset, the ability to work independently, and flexibility to support a 24/7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair 480V three-phase electrical systems and associated components.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduit, panels, motors, transformers, and control systems.
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
Inspect electrical systems to identify deficiencies and recommend repairs or preventive maintenance.
Perform testing, calibration, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems and load centers.
Support installation and maintenance of tunnel, bridge, lighting, and traffic control electrical systems.
Analyze equipment failures and recommend corrective actions to improve system reliability.
Ensure all electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety regulations.
Operate bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and other equipment safely while performing field work.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
Respond to emergency service calls and equipment failures as required.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Master Electrician License.
Minimum 2+ years of commercial or industrial electrical maintenance experience.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing 480V AC, three-phase electrical systems.
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical safety practices.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical distribution systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-outs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in transportation, tunnel, bridge, highway, utility, industrial manufacturing, or heavy infrastructure environments.
Knowledge of traffic monitoring and control systems.
Experience operating bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and other field equipment.
Familiarity with electrical control systems, motors, and industrial automation.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, crouch, and lift equipment throughout the workday.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Comfortable working at heights and near energized electrical equipment.
Ability to safely work alongside active roadways and transportation infrastructure.
Work Environment
24/7 operational facility requiring flexible scheduling.
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment supporting critical infrastructure.
Weekend, evening, overtime, and emergency response work may be required.
