An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a secure, mission-critical environment supporting some of the UK's most sensitive technology programmes.

This is a fully onsite role based in Cheltenham, working within a highly collaborative technical team responsible for maintaining and enhancing enterprise identity, directory and infrastructure services across a complex multi-domain environment.

Due to the nature of the work, active eDV clearance is essential.

The Role

You'll play a key role in the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of enterprise directory services, ensuring secure, reliable and resilient infrastructure that supports critical operational systems.

Working as part of a specialist team, you'll contribute to both business-as-usual support and ongoing infrastructure enhancement projects, helping to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Administer and maintain enterprise Active Directory environments.
\n
• Support identity and access management, including user lifecycle and access control.
\n
• Design, deploy and manage Group Policy Objects across complex environments.
\n
• Support and troubleshoot SQL-based systems, producing queries and reports to aid operational support.
\n
• Configure and maintain secure multi-domain print management solutions.
\n
• Deliver third-line support, patching, upgrades and lifecycle activities in line with agreed service levels.
\n
• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to improve platform resilience and performance.
\n

Skills & Experience

We're looking for candidates with experience in:

\n
• Enterprise Active Directory administration, including Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP and replication.
\n
• SQL querying, reporting and troubleshooting within complex production environments.
\n
• Group Policy design, implementation and troubleshooting.
\n
• Identity and access management within secure enterprise environments.
\n
• Supporting critical infrastructure under SLA-driven operational models.
\n

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

\n
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
\n
• Privileged Access Workstations (PAWs).
\n
• Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
\n
• Hybrid identity technologies.
\n
• CI/CD principles and infrastructure automation.
\n
