This is a Mechanical Technician role with a growing renewable energy business near Ely, on a four-on, four-off shift pattern.\n
\nAs a Mechanical Technician you will keep the plant and machinery running across a growing renewable energy operation, working on the equipment that turns organic waste into clean energy. It is varied, genuinely hands-on work, service, repair, maintenance, installation, fault-finding and inspection, on a four-on, four-off, 12-hour shift pattern. Be clear on one thing: this is an outdoor role, with up to 90% of your time spent outside across operational plant areas, often at height and in all weathers. If you are a practical, resilient technician who likes different problems every day and takes pride in keeping things running, no two days here will be the same.\n

Job Responsibilities\n

- Carrying out repairs and maintenance in line with the schedules set by the maintenance managers \n
- Performing service, repair, maintenance, installation, testing, inspection and fault-finding to a high standard \n
- Working on motors, engines, augers, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics and valves \n
- Working outdoors and at height across operational plant areas, in all weather conditions \n
- Operating plant machinery such as tele-handlers and forklifts, with training provided \n
- Keeping accurate maintenance records using company logging systems on a handheld tablet \n
- Working safely and to a high standard at all times, adhering to health and safety best practice \n
- Carrying out ad-hoc duties to keep the operation running smoothly \n
Skills and Experience\n
\nTo succeed as a Mechanical Technician you will need:\n
\n
- \n
- Proven experience as an all-round industrial or agricultural Mechanical Technician \n
- Mechanical experience across motors, engines, augers, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics and valves \n
- A strong background in service, repair, maintenance and installation \n
- Solid fault-finding and investigation skills \n
- Confidence working at height and outdoors in all weathers \n
- Experience driving plant machinery \n
- A full UK driving licence and full right to work in the UK \n
- A tele-handler or forklift ticket, which is desirable \n
- Cherry-picker experience, which is desirable \n
- Welding experience would be an advantage \n
Pay and Benefits\n
\nAs a Mechanical Technician you will receive:\n

- A salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience \n
- A four-on, four-off, 12-hour shift pattern with overtime available \n
- 6am to 6pm \n
- 28 days annual leave, including public holidays \n
