M&E Quantity SurveyorLocation: Blyth, North East EnglandSector: Hyperscale Data Centres | Mission Critical ConstructionProject Value: £10bn Hyperscale Data Centre CampusOur client is a leading international main contractor specialising in the delivery of hyperscale data centres and mission-critical infrastructure across Europe. They are seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team delivering a major phase of one of Europe's largest and most significant digital infrastructure programmesa landmark £10bn hyperscale data centre campus in Blyth.Spanning more than a decade, this flagship development will redefine digital infrastructure in the UK. Working alongside the Commercial Manager and MEP project teams, you will be responsible for the commercial management of the Mechanical & Electrical packages, ensuring costs are effectively controlled while maintaining programme, quality and contractual performance across this technically complex project.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the commercial aspects of Mechanical & Electrical packages from procurement through to final account.Prepare tender enquiries, evaluate subcontract returns and assist with subcontract procurement.Administer M&E subcontract agreements, ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.Prepare and manage valuations, applications for payment and commercial reporting.Assess subcontractor applications, variations, compensation events and final accounts.Monitor project costs, forecasts, budgets and cash flow, identifying commercial risks and opportunities.Work closely with the MEP Project Managers and site teams to ensure commercial objectives align with programme delivery.Support the management of contract changes, claims and cost recovery.Prepare cost reports and forecasts for senior commercial management.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and specialist MEP subcontractors.Ensure compliance with company commercial procedures and contractual obligations.RequirementsPrevious experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor, Mechanical Quantity Surveyor or Electrical Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.Experience working on data centres, mission-critical facilities, commercial, pharmaceutical, industrial or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.Good understanding of Mechanical and Electrical building services installations and associated commercial practices.Experience administering NEC and/or JCT contracts.Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline.Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical, negotiation and cost management skills.Experience managing subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.PackageHighly competitive salaryAccommodationAllowances packagePerformance-related bonusCompany car or car allowance / Private healthcare / Enhanced pension / Life assuranceOngoing training and professional developmentExcellent long-term career progression with a leading international contractorThis is an opportunity to join one of the UK's largest ever construction programmes and contribute to the successful commercial delivery of a landmark £10 billion hyperscale data centre campus .Working alongside an experienced commercial and MEP delivery team, you'll play a key role in managing the financial performance of complex Mechanical & Electrical packages on one of Europe's most prestigious mission-critical developments, while building a long-term career with a world-class international contractor.TPBN1_UKTJ
