We have an opportunity for a Senior / Associate Quantity Surveyor to join our cost management team at Ridge and Partners.You will become part of our dynamic and collaborative team of 10 people working together to achieve team success and will be encouraged and supported to progress your career within the cost management discipline in the Reading office.About the Role:At Ridge, we are proud to work on a diverse portfolio of exciting projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of sectors, including (but not limited to education, residential, hospitality and industrial developments. You will act as a key point of contact for clients and contribute to the successful delivery of projects ranging in value from £1m to £50m.What you need to do to be effective in this roleThe role will be varied and include day to day lead on a variety of projects specifically including:Cost Planning at various RIBA stages including producing preliminary and detailed cost estimates (from feasibility through to detailed design)Pre-Contract services, including: Providing advice on procurement strategy and the overall tendering processProvide advice on contract arrangementsNegotiation/agreement of a Contract Sum (experience of two stage tendering an advantage)Prepare tender documentsAdvising clients on tenders when receivedPrepare contract documentationPost Contract services, including: Providing advice on contractual matters / proceduresValuing completed work and approving progress paymentsMonitor changes in design and measure, value and negotiates variationsBudget management and cost reporting to the clientNegotiate final accountsWorking closely with the Team and mentoring / working with graduatesClient facingDeveloping existing and new Client contacts and relationshipsThe skills and experience you need to have for this roleRelevant degreeMRICS preferred but not essentialProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (consultancy) with extensive experience you can evidenceArticulate, capable of establishing and maintaining strong client relationshipsCommercially aware with excellent negotiation and organisational skills.Sound knowledge of JCT ContractsWorking collaboratively within a teamTPBN1_UKTJ
