ABOUT YOU:You are an experienced leader with a background in a UKAS-accredited laboratory, quality, food safety, or food manufacturing environment. You have a strong understanding of quality standards, non-conformance management, investigations, and audit participation, combined with excellent attention to detail. A hands-on and adaptable professional, you enjoy developing teams, driving performance, and delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.Required skills and experience:Proven track record of experience in a UKAS-accredited laboratoryPrevious experience leading or supervising a teamStrong technical, analytical, and organisational skillsProficient in MS Office and laboratory systemsStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsHands-on, flexible, and able to work to tight deadlinesABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYAs Team Lead, you will oversee the daily delivery of laboratory testing services, ensuring workloads are effectively managed and work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You'll lead, coach, and develop a team of laboratory professionals while maintaining strong customer relationships, supporting commercial activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to make a visible impact on team performance, customer satisfaction, and the ongoing success of the laboratory.Key activities:Lead and prioritise daily team workload to ensure efficient delivery in line with technical standards and client requirementsAct as a role model, driving high performance and ensuring quality and customer expectations are consistently metManage client quotations, purchase orders, and contract reviews in line with authority limitsDevelop, train, and support team members to build technical capability and performanceOversee analysis turnaround, reporting accuracy, and authorised sign-off of results and billingMaintain strong customer relationships and represent the business externallyEnsure equipment reliability, calibration, and reporting of faults or non-conformancesSupport KPI tracking, performance reporting, and continuous improvement initiativesContribute to projects, method development, and validation activitiesManage stock levels and ensure operational readiness of the laboratoryDrive a high-performance, customer-focused culture with a focus on continuous improvementIdentify business growth opportunities and support commercial activities (including upselling and feedback via NPSWHAT WE OFFERJoin Intertek and become part of our global network of inspiring and entrepreneurial colleagues.
