This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in industrial, manufacturing, production, construction or quarrying environments who wants to develop their skills, operate heavy machinery and play a key role in supplying essential materials for major construction projects.This varied role will provide you with the opportunity to learn new skills and operate specialist equipment whilst also giving you training and development too. Part of a supportive and experienced team you will be working within a leading building materials organisation that has a safety-first culture with high operational standards.What You'll Be DoingAs a Multi Skilled Operative, you'll be part of an operational team responsible for producing dry aggregates materials used throughout the construction industry while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental performance. You key responsibilities will include:Operating machinery and working with aggregates across the siteCarrying out housekeeping duties to maintain a safe working environmentOperating the weighbridgeDriving a loading shovelSupporting routine maintenance activitiesMaintaining high standards of housekeeping across the sitePromoting a culture of zero harm and behavioural safetyEnsuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental proceduresTraining on and operating static plant equipment to support plant optimisation and efficiencyWhat We're Looking ForWe're interested in hearing from candidates who have experience as an operative, labourer or production team member within a quarry or asphalt plant, industrial, construction or similar environment. Suitable candidate will also demonstrate:Strong communication and teamwork skillsPositive, flexible and proactive approach to workAbility to work effectively within a multi-skilled operational teamWillingness to learn and develop new skillsSelf-motivation and the ability to support and motivate colleaguesUnderstanding of workplace risk assessmentsKnowledge of Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), HIRA and permit systems (desirable but not essential)Commitment to company standards, objectives and safe working practicesKnowledge of quarrying or the aggregates industry (advantageous)Location: based at Dolyhir and Strinds Quarry, near Presteigne, Herefordshire this role is easily accessed from Hereford, Hay-on-Wye, Ludlow, Leominster, Llandrindod Wells, Newtown and the surrounding areas.Why TarmacAt Tarmac, who you are matters.
