Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Field Service Engineer role based ideally in the north west of England, but other areas will be considered for the right candidate. The Field Service Engineer will install, commission, and maintain industrial metal detection equipment at customer locations, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing faults, performing troubleshooting, and carrying out performance validations on systems across food, pharmaceutical, and related environments. The role involves providing technical support, guiding customers on proper operation and testing procedures, and delivering basic on-site training where required. The engineer will also complete service documentation, coordinate with the wider engineering and sales teams, and uphold safety, quality, and regulatory requirements during all site visits.

Qualifications

  • Strong field service and on-site support skills, including experience working with industrial equipment in production or manufacturing environments.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques for electro-mechanical or electronic systems, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • \n
  • Experience in technical support and guidance for customers, including clear communication of technical information and best practices.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, with a professional, respectful approach and a focus on long-term relationships.
  • \n
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and standards.
  • \n
  • Willingness to travel across the UK with occasional nights away from home.
  • \n
  • Full driving licence.
  • \n
  • Comfortable working in food, pharmaceutical, or similar regulated environments; prior experience in these sectors is beneficial.
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
  • \n
  • Previous field service role an advantage.
