This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous metal finishing experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work within a busy fabrication environment.Hours of WorkMonday to Thursday: 7:00am - 3:30pmFriday: 7:00am - 1:00pmEarly finish every FridayFull-time hoursThe RoleAs a Metal Polisher / Linisher, you will be responsible for preparing, finishing and polishing fabricated metal components to a high cosmetic standard. You will work with a variety of metals, ensuring finished products meet customer specifications and quality requirements. The successful candidate will also be required to safely operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to move materials and finished products around the workshop.Duties IncludeLinishing and polishing fabricated metal componentsRemoving weld marks, scratches and surface imperfectionsAchieving brushed, satin and mirror finishes where requiredPolishing aluminium, stainless steel, mild steel and other metalsGrinding, fettling and deburring componentsUsing belt linishers, polishing machines, angle grinders and other finishing equipmentLoading, unloading and moving materials using a Counterbalance Forklift TruckTransporting finished products safely within the workshopInspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standardsWorking from engineering drawings and job specifications where requiredMaintaining a clean, safe and organised working environmentFollowing company health and safety procedures at all timesCandidate RequirementsPrevious experience as a Metal Polisher, Linisher, Metal Finisher or FettlerExperience working with stainless steel, aluminium and other fabricated metalsA valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence is essentialPrevious experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift in a manufacturing or engineering environmentCompetent using hand tools, power tools and polishing equipmentExcellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamReliable, punctual and able to work to production deadlinesBenefits£13.00 - £14.00 per hour depending on experienceWeekly payEarly finish every FridayFull-time hoursFree on-site parkingOvertime opportunities availableFriendly and supportive working environmentOpportunity to work for a well-established engineering businessIf you are an experienced Metal Polisher / Linisher with a valid Counterbalance Forklift licence , we'd love to hear from you.
