You'll work directly with young people, families, schools and partner agencies to help young people overcome challenges and create brighter futures.Whether you're already working in substance use services, youth work, education, mental health, social care or a related field, we'll support you to develop your skills and build a rewarding career.As a Young Persons Recovery Worker, you'll benefit from:A structured learning and development journeyClear career pathwaysSpecialist training in substance use, safeguarding and young people's interventionsOpportunities to progress into leadership or specialist practitioner rolesA supportive team environment where your ideas and expertise are valuedThe chance to make a genuine impact in your local community every dayRole Responsibility You'll manage your own caseload of young people, providing tailored support that helps them make positive changes and reduce the risks associated with drug and alcohol use.Your role will include:Completing assessments and identifying individual support needsDeveloping person-centred recovery and intervention plansDelivering one-to-one and group-based interventionsProviding advice, education and harm reduction supportBuilding trusted, meaningful relationships with young peopleWorking collaboratively with families and carers where appropriateCompleting risk assessments and safeguarding activitiesDelivering awareness sessions and educational workshops within schools and partner organisationsWorking closely with Social Care, CAMHS, Youth Justice Services, schools and other professionalsSupporting young people in community settings, schools, family homes and other locations that best meet their needsNo two days are the same. One day you may be delivering substance awareness sessions in a school, and the next supporting a young person through a difficult period alongside their family and partner agencies.The Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve positive outcomes. You may already have experience in youth work, children's services, education, pastoral support, mental health, social care, family support, substance use services, community outreach or safeguarding.To be successful in this role, you'll have experience working with young people under 25 and be able to engage and motivate young people from a wide range of backgrounds. You'll be skilled at building trust and positive relationships quickly, confident managing your own workload, and comfortable working both independently and in partnership with a range of agencies and professionals.You'll also have excellent communication and organisational skills, along with knowledge of, or a keen interest in, substance use, recovery and behaviour change.
