The Quality Inspector will be responsible for overseeing and verifying quality compliance for civil, electrical, and underground utility construction activities. This role requires extensive field presence, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret construction plans, inspect work in progress, and ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.


The ideal candidate will possess a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification and hands-on experience with electrical bank duct installations, trench construction, HDPE piping systems, pressure testing, and concrete quality testing.


Key Responsibilities

Perform field inspections to ensure construction activities comply with project specifications, drawings, industry standards, and quality requirements.

Conduct inspections of electrical bank duct installations, verifying alignment, depth, spacing, encasement requirements, and overall workmanship.

Review and verify trench dimensions, elevations, and grade requirements against construction drawings and specifications.

Interpret engineering drawings, profiles, cross-sections, and construction details to validate field installations.

Perform and document concrete slump testing in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards.

Inspect installation of HDPE piping systems, including fusion operations, material handling, alignment, and overall installation quality.

Witness and document pressure testing activities for underground utility systems and HDPE infrastructure.

Conduct welding inspections and ensure compliance with applicable welding procedures and quality standards.

Maintain detailed inspection reports, test records, punch lists, and daily documentation.

Coordinate with contractors, project managers, engineers, and construction personnel to address quality concerns and resolve deficiencies.

Identify non-conforming work and assist in implementing corrective actions.

Participate in quality meetings and support project audits as required.

Ensure all work is performed in accordance with site safety requirements and company policies.


Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.

Experience inspecting electrical bank duct installations.

Experience verifying trench dimensions and reading construction drawings/plans.

Hands-on experience performing or witnessing concrete slump testing.

Experience inspecting HDPE pipe installation and fusion activities.

Experience witnessing and documenting pressure testing procedures.

Strong understanding of construction quality control and inspection processes.

Ability to read and interpret engineering, civil, and electrical construction drawings.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inspection documentation tools.


Previous experience supporting heavy industrial, steel manufacturing, utility, energy, or infrastructure projects.

Knowledge of ASTM, ACI, AWS, and applicable construction quality standards.

Experience with underground utility construction and civil site development.

Familiarity with commissioning and startup quality activities.
