Job Description
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students across K-12 settings in the Niles, MI area. This engaging role focuses on providing occupational therapy services to students with various disabilities, including Autism, cognitive, emotional, and learning differences, as well as other health-related needs. With a well-structured weekly schedule of 36.25 hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM), you'll have the chance to make an impact while maintaining work-life balance.
Assignments will be determined closer to the start of the school year and may require travel to multiple locations throughout Berrien County. As part of a dedicated school-based team, you’ll collaborate with educators, families, and specialists to ensure each student receives comprehensive support for their individual needs.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and current licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Prior experience in school-based settings preferred
- Familiarity with serving children with diverse disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, cognitive and emotional impairments, and other health conditions
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with colleagues and families
- Ability to manage a moderate caseload of about 55-65 students
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students across K-12 schools
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students’ IEP goals
- Travel to multiple school sites as assigned within Berrien County to provide on-site support
- Document progress accurately and participate in multidisciplinary meetings
- Educate and support school staff and families regarding students’ therapy needs and strategies
