Step into a rewarding role as a middle school science instructor for the upcoming academic year! This onsite, full-time contract opportunity offers a chance to make a lasting impact on general education students, with scheduled support in place for any students receiving SPED services. The position runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, encompassing 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing engaging science lessons aligned with district and state standards, using formative assessments to shape differentiated instruction. Strong classroom management and behavioral leadership are essential to foster a positive, productive learning environment. Teachers in this role will collaborate with SPED colleagues as needed and contribute actively to the school’s mission of educational excellence.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active PA teaching certification/licensure suitable for a general education middle school science assignment
  • Bachelor’s degree required for emergency teaching permit
  • Mastery of subject content and contemporary instructional strategies
  • Prior experience working in a school setting, specifically in urban environments
  • Skill in developing lesson plans and leveraging educational resources effectively
  • Proven behavioral and classroom management expertise
  • Willingness to undergo and complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
  • Reliable transportation for daily onsite attendance
  • Comfortable adhering to a fixed 8:30AM–4PM schedule, with no alternate accommodations
