Job Description
Make a tangible impact in the school community as a part-time Physical Therapist for the 2026–2027 academic year. This contract opportunity offers flexible hours—work between 10 and 20 hours per week—supporting K-12 students across various school sites in the Palo Alto, CA area. Your expertise will help students access their education through individualized physical therapy services, contributing to meaningful progress and student success.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (California required by start date)
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Familiarity with school IEP systems, especially Siras and AbleSpace
- Ability to manage a varied caseload of approximately 20 students
- Strong collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services for students in grades K–12
- Conduct evaluations and participate in the development, review, and implementation of IEPs
- Travel to multiple school sites as assigned; approved mileage is billable
- Document student progress and maintain records in Siras/AbleSpace
- Communicate therapy goals, progress, and recommendations to teachers and families
- Help students improve access to their curriculum and school environment
