Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Make a meaningful impact working with high school students (grades 9-12) in a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from August 2026 to June 2027. You’ll enjoy consistent hours—between 32 and 37.5 per week—within a supportive educational environment focused on student growth and success.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience managing high school special education caseloads (grades 9-12)
- Strong background in IEP development, case management, and specially designed instruction
- Proficiency in academic evaluations, data collection, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Preferred: Experience with behavior management and transition planning for high school students
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide individualized instruction and supports to meet diverse learner needs
- Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in alignment with student goals and compliance standards
- Conduct academic evaluations and monitor student progress through data-driven methods
- Maintain active communication with families regarding student achievement and plans
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administration to foster student inclusion
- Plan and adapt lessons for an A/B schedule—four 90-minute blocks per day with a dedicated prep period
- Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning
