This contract opportunity focuses on life skills for middle schoolers and resource support at the high school level. Three positions are available for certified special education professionals eager to help students thrive.

What you bring:

  • Valid Kansas SPED certification
  • Prior experience working as a special education teacher
  • Familiarity with IEP goal setting and progress monitoring
  • Comfort adapting instruction for diverse learner needs
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, faculty, and families
  • Commitment to inclusive, student-centered education
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Role highlights:

  • Guide and support students at middle or high school levels in either life skills or resource rooms
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with regular classroom teachers and related service providers
  • Track and report on student progress, participation, and achievements
  • Employ a variety of instructional strategies to address academic, social, and emotional needs
  • Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records and follow all district and state special education laws
  • Assist with classroom and behavioral management
  • Participate in school-based meetings and professional development as required
  • Work onsite during regular school hours for 37.5 hours per week during the academic year contract
