Forrest Health System is seeking to add a board-certified/board-eligible Neurologist to its Neurological Care Team. This role would include inpatient neurology services within the Forrest Health System and aid the current rapidly expanding inpatient Neurology practice.
\nPosition Details:
\n- \n
- Schedule of 7 days on / 7 days off \n
- Typical work day of 7am - 5pm \n
- Participates in daytime call for inpatient, ICU, and ER consults during 7 days on shift \n
- TeleStroke utilized from 5pm - 7am and for additional coverage as needed \n
- No call responsibilities after hours or during off-days \n
- Assisted daily by an APP team member \n

Neurologist Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
\n- \n
- Support of inpatient neurology consultation services within Forrest General Hospital and the Forrest Health System. \n
- Participates in on-call day time shift schedule in a responsive and timely manner. Responds to consults as quickly as possible and within hospital bylaws. \n
- Conduct thorough neurological exams and assessments and diagnose and treat a variety of neurological conditions and disorders as part of comprehensive patient care. \n
- Analyze complex patient medical histories and communicate with patients inpatient attending physician and/or primary care physician to coordinate care. \n
- Order as appropriate and interpret laboratory, imaging and other diagnostic tests. \n
- Partner alongside colleagues and other members of the care team with a focus on practicing evidence-based medicine and teamwork to bring the highest quality in patient care. - Determine a diagnosis and develop/implement a personalized care plan for each patient. \n
- Provide preventative care and health education to empower patients and their caregivers for a full patient-centered approach. \n
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including but not limited to other neurologists, cardiologists, radiologists, hospitalists, critical care team, palliative care team and emergency services. \n
- Stay ahead of the curve with ongoing education and training in the latest neurological advancements. \n
- Complete all EHR documentation and administrative tasks in a timely manner. \n
- Familiarity with the EPIC EMR preferred \n
