Full Time | Competitive Pay - Up to $65/hr based on experience
YOUR IMPACT
The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support through one of two available programs at a charter school located just 3 miles from Boston. The first opening is for a High School Life Skills/Transition Program serving students ages 18-22, focused on preparing students for life after high school through transition services, job applications, employment readiness, money management, independent living skills, and functional academics.
The second opening is for a Pathway Program serving elementary students in grades K-4, where the teacher will develop individualized learning plans, monitor and assess student progress, and collaborate with educators and families to support academic, social, and emotional growth. The ideal candidate is a licensed Special Education Teacher who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of students and supporting their growth, independence, and success.
WHAT YOU NEED:
* Valid Massachusetts Teaching License with Special Education (Moderate Disabilities) certification
* Eligible to teach in MA through DESE
* Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
* Designs & delivers individualized instruction for students with disabilities
* Knowledge of MA Special Education laws and IEP development
* Classroom experience Monday-Friday, structured setting
* Experience with students who are nonverbal, on the autism spectrum, prone to tantrums, runners, or wheelchair-bound preferred
