BG Staffing is currently seeking a dependable, skilled, and motivated Maintenance Technician to join a multifamily apartment community in Indianapolis, IN. Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in the daily operations and overall appearance of the community. This hands-on position requires an individual who can perform a variety of maintenance tasks, respond to service requests efficiently, and help ensure apartment homes and common areas remain in excellent condition.
We are open to considering both certified maintenance professionals and experienced maintenance technicians, provided candidates possess the necessary skills and a strong work ethic.
A personal vehicle and reliable transportation are required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform general maintenance and repair work throughout the property.
- Assist with apartment turns and unit make-readies.
- Conduct painting, touch-ups, and drywall repairs as needed.
- Troubleshoot and complete basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, and drains.
- Repair, replace, and rekey locks as necessary.
- Perform basic HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Maintain the property's curb appeal through groundskeeping and general exterior upkeep.
- Inspect community assets and identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company standards.
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs.
- Support the maintenance team with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or general repair experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of:
- Painting
- Plumbing
- Lock repairs and installations
- HVAC systems
- Grounds maintenance
- HVAC certification is a plus but not required.
- Maintenance certifications are welcomed but not mandatory.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
