This contract opportunity near Ilfeld, NM allows you to utilize your specialized skills in a supportive educational environment. You’ll work one day per week, providing essential physical therapy services to a caseload of approximately eight students, fostering their growth, mobility, and participation in school activities.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Physical Therapy license, with experience in a school setting preferred
  • Familiarity with PT evaluation, intervention, and documentation processes for students ages Pre-K through high school
  • Must have a valid Medicaid NCI number
  • Proven ability to collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Commitment to compliance with FERPA, IDEA, and state regulations
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group physical therapy services to students based on IEP goals
  • Conduct assessments and contribute to eligibility, progress, and review meetings
  • Develop treatment plans aimed at maximizing students’ independence, safety, and participation within the school environment
  • Document treatment sessions and progress in accordance with district and Medicaid requirements
  • Provide training and consultation to school staff and families to ensure continuity of care
  • Partner with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate optimal outcomes for each student
