Provide your expertise as a retail pharmacist in a dynamic community grocery store pharmacy setting within a respected health system. This travel contract offers an opportunity to work primarily at a retail pharmacy inside a grocery store in Alamogordo, New Mexico, with occasional shifts at a secondary location. A commitment of 13 weeks or longer is preferred, though shorter contracts will be considered.

Location:

  • Alamogordo, New Mexico
  • Travel position with potential to cover secondary retail site

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
  • Occasional weekend coverage at secondary site

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medications following established protocols
  • Maintain up-to-date patient medication profiles and ensure compliance
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, verifying daily tasks and workflows
  • Participate in emergency medical responses as a vital pharmacy team member
  • Conduct medication storage inspections, identifying and removing expired products
  • Orient and train new pharmacy staff to uphold quality standards
  • Follow infection control procedures in all pharmacy operations

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active New Mexico Pharmacist license or willing to obtain prior to start (all licenses to be disclosed and verified)
  • Minimum one year of pharmacist experience preferred, especially in retail settings
  • APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
  • Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
  • Experience supervising pharmacy technician staff
  • Flexibility to cover shifts at secondary location including occasional weekends
  • Open to travel and available for a minimum 13-week assignment; shorter contracts may be considered
