Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Previous experience in a resource room or similar special education setting
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with general educators, families, and specialists
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and interventions in a resource room setting, adapting lessons to meet each student’s needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, and support staff to foster inclusion and student success
- Track and report student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to optimize learning outcomes
- Create a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment
- Maintain accurate records, attend meetings, and participate in professional development as required
