ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year in Millbrae, California. This opportunity offers the chance to support TK–Kindergarten students with mild to moderate disabilities in a Special Day Class (SDC) while working alongside a collaborative educational team dedicated to student growth, independence, and success.

Work Schedule:

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Education Specialist Credential:

    • Mild/Moderate Disabilities, or

    • Moderate/Severe Disabilities, or

    • Autism Authorization (as applicable)

  • Previous school-based special education experience preferred

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

  • Knowledge of special education compliance, IEP development, and implementation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals and California state standards

  • Develop, implement, and monitor legally compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Plan and deliver individualized and small-group instruction tailored to each student's unique learning needs

  • Assess student academic, behavioral, and functional progress while maintaining accurate documentation

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to promote student success

  • Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention strategies and positive behavior supports

  • Introduce functional curriculum, life skills, community-based instruction, and transition activities when appropriate

  • Supervise, train, and collaborate with paraprofessionals supporting students in the classroom

  • Support parents by providing educational resources, training, and ongoing communication regarding student progress

  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development opportunities

  • Foster a structured, positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
