Job Description
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year in Millbrae, California. This opportunity offers the chance to support TK–Kindergarten students with mild to moderate disabilities in a Special Day Class (SDC) while working alongside a collaborative educational team dedicated to student growth, independence, and success.

Qualifications:

Valid California Education Specialist Credential:
Mild/Moderate Disabilities, or
Moderate/Severe Disabilities, or
Autism Authorization (as applicable)
Previous school-based special education experience preferred
Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
Knowledge of special education compliance, IEP development, and implementation
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals and California state standards
Develop, implement, and monitor legally compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Plan and deliver individualized and small-group instruction tailored to each student's unique learning needs
Assess student academic, behavioral, and functional progress while maintaining accurate documentation
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to promote student success
Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention strategies and positive behavior supports
Introduce functional curriculum, life skills, community-based instruction, and transition activities when appropriate
Supervise, train, and collaborate with paraprofessionals supporting students in the classroom
Support parents by providing educational resources, training, and ongoing communication regarding student progress
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development opportunities
Foster a structured, positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
