The Labor & Delivery unit features 16 labor/delivery/recovery beds, 5 obstetric triage beds, and a surgical suite with 3 operating rooms dedicated to cesarean deliveries. In this role, you will provide essential support before, during, and after surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the availability and proper setup of surgical instruments and supplies in the operating room for each procedure, assisting the surgeon as permitted by professional and legal standards, and aiding in the cleaning of the operating room post-surgery, ensuring the correct handling of equipment and materials. You will report directly to the Manager.

• A minimum of one year of prior experience as a Surgical Technologist is required, with a preference for experience in Cesarean sections.
• Completion of a surgical technician training program is necessary.
• Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required or must be obtained within one year of employment.
• Current CPR and BLS certification, along with participation in annual Validation Day, is mandatory.
• Familiarity with various surgical procedures and the ability to anticipate the surgeon's needs and recognize potential challenges is essential.
• Knowledge of the names and functions of surgical instruments and equipment is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
• Adherence to policies and regulations regarding the maintenance of a sterile field is critical.
• Understanding of basic patient care and safety principles is necessary.
• Application of aseptic principles to ensure optimal patient care is required, along with knowledge of operating room emergency situations.
