Step into a vibrant learning environment as a Special Education Teacher for a new school year. Two contract positions are now available supporting students in co-taught, inclusive settings. Key Details:

  • Full-time schedule: 37.5–40 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, 7:45 am–3:45 pm
  • Term: August 5th through May 21st, 2027, with training (July 29th) and pre-planning (July 31st–August 4th)
  • Roles:
    • 6th Grade (Math & Science): Co-teaching, with a caseload of approximately 10–12 students diagnosed with a range of needs (Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, EBD); minimal significant behaviors, no toileting or diapering required.
    • 7th/8th Grade (ELA & Science): Co-teaching across grades, managing a similar caseload and student profile; focus on academic and behavioral support in an inclusive classroom.

Qualifications:

  • Must have an active GaPSC Special Education Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement.
  • Previous experience in co-teaching or inclusion settings strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with IEP implementation, differentiation, and behavior intervention planning.
  • Strong collaborative skills for working alongside general education teachers and support staff.
  • Effective communication skills with students, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in collaboration with general educators.
  • Support students with diverse learning needs, ensuring compliance with IEPs.
  • Implement positive behavior management and accommodations.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive classroom where each student feels supported.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding progress and strategies.
